Rochester Hills, Mich. —Oct. 11, 2016—St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, a community of nearly 2,100 families reaching out and ministering to the needs of the parish, the community and others through worship, education and Christian Service, announced the completion of its new website at www.stirenaeus.org. The website was designed by Rochester Hills-based Ignite. The announcement was made by St. Irenaeus Pastor, Father Brian Chabala.
“As we approach our 50th year as a parish community in 2017, we needed to have an effective way to communicate with our parishioners and others seeking a spiritual home,” Fr. Chabala said. “Our new website clearly explains the many activities offered by and for our parishioners and others and conveys our desire to be a spiritual resource in the Rochester community, offering such programs as the Opening Wide our Doors pastoral initiative.”
Opening Wide Our Doors is a four-week long series of events inspired by Pope Francis’ call for a Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2016 and includes a Hurts & Grievances session in the parish activities building on Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. The session is an informal, non-judgmental discussion with Fr. Brian and the pastoral staff for those who have felt alienated from the Catholic Church yet want to begin on the path of healing and consideration.
Opening Wide our Doors culminates with ‘Invite Weekend’ on November 5 and 6 at St. Irenaeus. Over the past year, Parish members have participated in numerous sacramental, study and service events to deepen their understanding of God’s mercy and invigorate them to extend that mercy in their homes and community. Fr. Brian and members of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church invite all to visit the Parish for a variety of activities including worship, fellowship and donuts and cider on November 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and November 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Additional information on Invite Weekend and Opening Wide our Doors events can be found at the Year of Mercy button on the top of the homepage at www.stirenaeus.org. St. Irenaeus is located at 771 Old Perch Road, Rochester Hills, Mich., 48309. The phone number is 248.651.9595.
