Birmingham, Mich.—August 13, 2024 – Rebecca L. Weekley, a senior attorney with Birmingham-based full-service business law firm Williams Williams Rattner & Plunkett (WWRP), has been named to the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Class of 2024 Influential Women of Law.  According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, the awards program honors women attorneys for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and for their clients, commitment to their communities and service to the profession. The honorees – who will be celebrated at an awards luncheon on September 27 – are considered inspiring and accomplished leaders, serve as mentors to others, and contribute time and effort to volunteerism and/or pro bono initiatives.ex

With a reputation as a fixer who takes a strategic approach to problem solving, Weekley’s practice focuses on business and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and all aspects of commercial real estate, including due diligence, real estate acquisition, disposition, leasing, contract reviews, financing, title issues, closing and post-closing leasing and management matters for corporate clients and multi-family housing developers. She also represents condo associations on enforcement matters and landlords with regard to evictions and collections.

In addition to providing comprehensive legal counsel and negotiation savvy to advise on all aspects of real estate transactions, she consults with business owners and entrepreneurs on merger and acquisition activities including financing and complex contract reviews. With larger clients, such as acca multiple location auto dealer, she combines her skills in real estate, M & A, and secured transactions to provide full-service legal counsel. As a testament to her level of client service, when an attorney outside of the firm retired, she specifically recommended that Weekley take over the work of one of her largest clients, a multi-family real estate developer with operations in several states. Since that transition, she has assisted the client on corporate matters, contract reviews, and financing.

Weekley is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of Michigan Business Law and Real Property Law Sections.  Following a debut in 2023, Weekley was again selected in 2024 to co-present at the popular Summer Conference of the Real Property Law Section, which is among the State Bar of Michigan’s largest sections. A conference for continuing legal education, her topic for both years was the annual “State of the Law” segment, a highly attended event and coveted presentation opportunity that surveys legal developments as to case law and legislation within the past year.

Weekley holds a Juris Doctor from the Wayne State University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
