Rochester, Mich. – May 17, 2017 – Ewa Matuszewski, CEO of Rochester, Mich.-based MedNetOne Health Solutions (MedNetOne), was pleased to welcome Paul Grundy, M.D. to serve as speaker and commentator for MedNetOne’s “Best Practices Turn into Common Practice” forum, focused on the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model and held today in Southfield, Mich. Dr. Grundy is chief medical officer and global director of healthcare transformation for IBM’s Healthcare and Life Science Industry and the founding president of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC).
MedNetOne, a health care management organization offering infrastructure, clinical and technology services to more than 800 private practice physicians plus other independent care providers, invited physician organizations, primary care physicians and practitioners, and community-based health care leaders to share success stories and “pain points” of how primary care practices’ best practices can become everyday practices in the context of the PCMH model. The PCMH model puts patients at the center of care, while increasing care coordination and efficiencies within a practice.
After hearing the individual practice stories, Dr. Grundy, also known as the “father of PCMH” and an ardent supporter of Michigan’s healthcare community, gave a nod to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and progressive primary care practices in the state that have been among the nation’s leaders in advancing the PCMH and primary care.
“In Michigan, the best get better,” Grundy said.
In addition to MedNetOne, other physician groups participating in the forum were Huron Valley Physicians Association, Integrated Health Partners and Wayne State University Physician Group. The MedNetOne forum was a precursor to the Michigan Osteopathic Association’s 2017 Spring Scientific Convention taking place May 18-21, also in Southfield.
