Detroit, Mich., —May 5, 2014 — One Detroit Center, an award-winning, Class-A office property located in downtown Detroit and the tallest office building in Michigan, announced a social media plan to provide followers/fans/connections real-time information on the building, including events, amenities and tenant news. The program, using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, also aims to strengthen the sense of community among One Detroit Center tenants.

“One Detroit Center has a unique vibe in the city, with a blend of law firms, advertising/public relations agencies, financial services and technology companies combining to create a high energy work hub,” said Greg Camia, lead executive of One Detroit Center and senior vice president of iStar Financial, which is the majority owner of the building. “Using social media to engage with our tenants will be an effective, additional form of communication and is consistent with the approach other iconic buildings like the Empire State Building in New York City and The Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) in Chicago are taking from a communications standpoint.”

Social media platforms will be used by One Detroit Center to share information on five key areas:
• Current and future events and activities held for the building community, such as the Melodic Mondays series with Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians that kicked off on April 28
• “I spy” in the D – sharing various Detroit landmarks that can be seen from One Detroit Center
• Iconic design elements that can be seen throughout One Detroit Center (e.g. trompe l’oeil marble)
• Tenant Spotlight – highlighting tenant successes within their business (i.e. awards honoring accomplishments in the legal profession)
• Detroit sporting and cultural events (e.g. Tigers, Red Wings, Detroit Symphony Orchestra)

The social media campaign for tenants follows the January unveiling of One Detroit Center’s new 25 foot LED monument sign, located at the corner of W. Larned and Woodward Ave., and designed to engage tenants, pedestrians and motorists in the excitement and elegance of Detroit’s corporate and cultural scene. One Detroit Center tenants are spotlighted on the monument sign throughout the day, with additional coverage allocated on a fee basis to allow tenants to send targeted messages to the downtown Detroit audience. The monument sign is the only one of its kind for a Michigan multi-tenant office building.
