Detroit, Mich. – Nov. 4, 2013 – Erin Behler, an attorney with Detroit-based labor and employment law firm Nemeth Law, P.C., was selected to be a steering committee member of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) – Eastern District of Michigan RISE committee. Formed this summer, RISE (not an acronym) promotes advancement, leadership development and growth and enrichment in the FBA. The RISE steering committee is comprised of approximately 11 newer lawyers (seven years of experience or less) from around southeast Michigan.
According to Behler, the primary goal of the group is to help newer lawyers become involved with the FBA and to set the groundwork for the FBA’s future leaders.
“It is an honor to be selected as part of the FBA’s newer lawyer initiative,” said Behler. “I believe in what the RISE committee aims to accomplish and look forward to working with my RISE colleagues to present leadership opportunities and help build an even stronger FBA organization.”
To encourage the involvement of newer lawyers in the FBA, the steering committee is hosting a series of events, which kicked off with a Ping-Pong tournament on Sept. 24 at the Drive Table Tennis Social Club in Detroit. The evening served as a networking opportunity that provided approximately 50 newer lawyers and federal judicial law clerks the chance to meet one another. The next event, Speed Judging, will be held on Nov. 20 at Levin Courthouse (231 W. Lafayette, Room 115, Detroit). To learn more about RISE, visit the FBA website.
