Wyandotte, Mich. — November 18, 2021 — Michigan Legacy Credit Union (MLCU), with five physical locations, in Flat Rock, Highland, Pontiac, Warren and Wyandotte, is pleased to be a sponsor of the  Crime Stoppers of Michigan Annual Children’s Christmas Party at the Parade Company on Saturday, December 11. Members of the Southeast Michigan business community will come together to celebrate with children and their families impacted by crime, as well as show support for over 200 law enforcement agencies. Carma Peters, CEO and President of Michigan Legacy Credit Union, is grateful for the opportunity the party presents to help affected families.

“At Michigan Legacy Credit Union, we are always looking for ways to make an impact in the communities where we live and serve,” Peters said. “The work of Crime Stoppers of Michigan aims to make Michigan communities safer for everyone. We are happy to support their mission and help make the holidays a bit brighter for these children and families who have been impacted by crime.”

Throughout the day, the children will meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, tour the floats, enjoy food, sing Christmas carols, and be gifted toys. The event will be emceed by Jay Towers and hosted by Deena Centofanti, both local television anchors at Fox 2 Detroit. Although the Christmas party is invite only, everyone can help support the event through the Virtual Holiday Auction. Auction prizes include a trip to the Indy 500, Tea at the Whitney, a sailing excursion at Hilton Head Island, among many others fabulous items. Bidding is open now and goes through December 15 for most items, with the exception of tickets to the performance of Hadestown, which closes for bidding November 24.

Serving seven counties in Southeast Michigan, Crime Stoppers of Michigan enables tipsters to anonymously report crimes via phone (1-800-SPEAKUP) or online (1800SPEAKUP.org) to help prevent and solve criminal activity with the goal of creating safer communities.

The sponsorship of this event furthers Michigan Legacy Credit Union’s support of initiatives that strengthen communities. Earlier this year, MLCU donated $10,000 to The Downriver Community Food Pantry, $15,000 to The Wyandotte Rotary Club, and $20,000 to Crime Stoppers of Michigan.
