Royal Oak, Mich. —August 5, 2019— As the back-to-school countdown begins, Judson Center and its affiliate, Child Safe Michigan, announce the kick-off of their annual back-to-school supply drive to help furnish the children they serve with much-needed items for the upcoming school year. Judson Center is a multi-county human service agency that provides autism programs, behavioral health services, child and family services—including foster care and adoption in tandem with Child Safe Michigan—employment services for persons with disabilities, and primary care for all ages.
“This is an exciting time of year for students, but many families struggle to cover all their children’s needs,” Judson Center CEO and President Lenora Hardy-Foster said. “Something as fundamental as school supplies can have a profound effect on students and their success in the school year.”
Judson Center’s Royal Oak location—4410 W. 13 Mile Road—will be accepting new donations at the front reception desk from Wednesday, August 7 through Wednesday, August 21. Drop off times are on weekdays only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Items requested include all traditional school supplies—such as backpacks, binders, pencils, notebooks and crayons—but also necessities such as calculators (TI-108, TI-83 and TI 30X), flash drives and personal headphones. In addition, all sizes of clothing are needed—from elementary to high school—and gift cards from Target, Walmart and Meijer are most welcome. The complete list from Judson Center and Child Safe Michigan can be viewed here.
