Traverse City, Mich. — April 30, 2024 — Cunningham-Limp, a community-focused construction management firm in Traverse City, is pleased to open nominations for its inaugural Community Builder Award, which will spotlight and honor leaders and businesses in Northwest Michigan who have built, improved, or creatively utilized a space that has significantly enhanced their community.

“Our team is deeply immersed in the communities we serve. We are on local boards, attend events and fundraisers, volunteer, and give to causes we feel are important,” Andy Cole, Cunningham-Limp’s Senior Vice President of Northwest Michigan, said. “As construction experts, building better communities is our passion, and we have noticed that it takes a special leader to spearhead developments that impact a community. Working alongside so many leaders on meaningful projects over the years gave us a front-row ticket to experience how special they are. We wanted to do something to recognize these incredible people and share their stories with the rest of the community.”

In addition to recognition, Cunningham-Limp will award the winner with a $2,500 gift to be allocated to a nonprofit of their choosing, including their own, if applicable.

Any individual or organization may nominate a candidate for the Community Builder Award, including themselves. The nomination form can be found here. Nominations should include:

  • Name of the individual or organization being nominated.
  • Contact information for the nominee.
  • A brief explanation about why the nominee should be considered for the award.

Nominees need not be a Cunningham-Limp client. Upon being nominated, nominees will receive an application to complete the process, summarizing in 300 words or less about how the individual or organization used a physical space or a built environment to enhance the community. The nominee must also provide a supporting endorsement from a local leader/executive who can speak to the impact of the individual/organization’s nomination.

Nominations open on April 30, 2024 and close on May 15, 2024. Finalists will be recognized at a reception hosted at West Shore Bank on June 6.
