Ann Arbor, Mich. —June 6, 2017 —The Ann Arbor office of Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., held a centennial golf outing on June 6, 2017 as part of the celebration of the firm’s 100 year anniversary in 2017.
The event was held at TPC in Dearborn and the morning kicked off with Brinks’ attorneys providing legal updates on trends in intellectual property. Brinks President Jim Sobieraj, a Michigan native and graduate of the University of Michigan who is based in the firm’s Chicago office, gave a presentation on the five intellectual property cases decided this year by the Supreme Court, an unusually high number when it comes to intellectual property.
Brinks’ Ann Arbor office is one of the firm’s seven offices in the U.S. The firm is expected to receive regulatory approval in 2017 for its new representative office in Shenzhen, the city at the center of China’s booming technology research and development sector. The office will be Brinks’ first overseas, and it is intended to serve companies in Guangdong province and throughout China in addressing intellectual property issues in the United States.
