Detroit — October 29, 2020 — Detroit-based labor and employment law firm, Nemeth Law, P.C., is pleased to announce Angelo Berlasi, Jr., has joined the firm as an associate attorney. The announcement was made by Deborah Brouwer, Nemeth Law co-managing partner.
Berlasi received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2019 and holds an undergraduate degree in political science from Western Michigan University.
During and after law school, he worked at several Detroit-area litigation firms, handling insurance defense and employment issues. While in law school, Berlasi worked in the Detroit Mercy Law Immigration Clinic, representing immigrant clients seeking a variety of benefits, including visas, and also was an intern at the Wayne County Corporation Counsel office.
“As employers tackle ever-increasing HR and legal challenges, we are pleased to add Angelo Berlasi to the Nemeth Law team to support our clients’ labor and employment needs,” Brouwer said.
While at Detroit Mercy Law, Berlasi was a Dean’s Fellow and received multiple scholarships, including the Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence, a State Bar of Michigan scholarship, and an Italian American Bar Association scholarship, as well as Book Awards in health law, education law, and the immigration law clinic.
Berlasi is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and State Bar of Michigan, Labor and Employment Law Section, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Italian American Bar Association. His community service activities include volunteer efforts with the Pope Francis Warming Center Soup Kitchen and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
