Livonia, Mich. —March 31, 2015 — The American Society of Employers (ASE), one of the nation’s oldest and largest employer associations, announces that Brian Stewart, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Daifuku North America Holding Company in Farmington Hills and Chris Ciapala, Chief Architect and President of InfoTronics, Inc., also based in Farmington Hills, have been named to the ASE board of directors. The announcement was made by ASE CEO Mary Corrado.
“Chris Ciapala and Brian Stewart are both visionary leaders who understand the impact of human resources on the growth and development of diverse companies and organizations,” Corrado said. “They will further enhance our board as thought leaders in their respective industries.”
Before being named Chairman and CEO of Daifuku North America, Stewart was President of Jervis B. Webb Company, which was acquired in 2007 by Osaka, Japan-based Daifuku Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies. He joined Jervis B. Webb in 1981 and held positions of increasing responsibility, including Chief Engineer, Vice President of Engineering and COO. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan.
Ciapala joined InfoTronics in 1986.
