Mount Clemens, Mich. – March 19, 2026 – Turning Point invites the community to stand with survivors at its 10th annual Stepping Out with the Stars gala on Friday, April 24. For a decade, this signature event has served as a vital pillar in Turning Point’s mission to empower those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. While the evening is a celebration of community, its core purpose is to raise funds to provide the resources and advocacy survivors needed to rebuild their lives, according to CEO Sharman Davenport, Ph.D.
“We are thrilled to host our 10th annual Stepping Out with the Stars,” Davenport said. “The format has been a success for Turning Point for a decade because it engages over 600 guests in a high-energy social setting. More importantly, it provides a platform to share our mission and the realities of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking with an audience that may not yet realize the full depth of our work.”
The annual event—held in partnership with the Arthur Murray Dance Studios of Shelby Township and Royal Oak—returns to the Palazzo Grande Banquet & Event Center, located at 54660 Van Dyke in Shelby Township. Leading up to the big night, five local “stars” – all dedicated advocates and community supporters of Turning Point – commit months to mastering a routine alongside Arthur Murray professionals to take the stage and raise awareness and critical funds for these lifesaving services. This year’s lineup features Brenda Bosnan, Mike Flores, Priscilla Camacho, Jennifer Gavin, and Kyle Manikas, with Erica Francis of Fox 2 Detroit returning as emcee.
Dancers will compete for two prestigious honors: the Judge’s Choice, based on technical performance, and the People’s Choice, awarded to the star who raises the most funds. Supporters can cast their votes now at https://cbo.io/app/public/bidapp/steppingout/auction.
Current event sponsors include GRIT Technologies, UAW Region 1, APEX Placement & Consulting, and OnTheClock. Admission—which includes dinner, an open premium bar, and dancing—is $125 per person or $1,125 for a table of 10. Advance registration is required. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m., featuring a silent auction, wine pull, and raffles. For more information on tickets and sponsorships, visit here.
