Rochester Hills, Mich. —Sept. 16, 2016—St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, a community of 2,076 families reaching out and ministering to the needs of the parish, the community and others through worship, education and Christian Service, announced the completion of its gathering space addition and renovation. The announcement was made by St. Irenaeus Pastor, Father Brian Chabala.

“In a short period of time, the new gathering space has enhanced the fellowship and outreach of an already vibrant parish community,” Fr. Chabala said. “St. Irenaeus has welcomed approximately 200 families into the parish within the past three years, so we needed the expanded space to allow for conversation, ministry and access to outreach opportunities before and after Mass. It also enhances parish gatherings for weddings, funerals and other sacramental celebrations.”

The renovation added 1,100 square feet to the church’s entry area and includes a new baptismal font, outreach stations for volunteer sign-ups, benches for families of young children, a covered driveway, and stained glass windows done by Auburn Hills artist, Maria Truckey. The general contractor for the renovation was Rochester-based Frank Rewold & Son, Inc.

The new gathering space was funded by St. Irenaeus’ Changing Lives Together campaign, which ran from 2013 to 2015.

The Parish also announced a new Mass schedule effective immediately. Masses are offered Saturday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:00, 9:45 and 11:30 a.m.
