Auburn Hills, Mich.—Aug. 12, 2014— Avondale School District, an achievement-oriented learning community focused on student leadership and success in academics, the arts and athletics, announces Julie Lublin has been named the interim principal at Avondale High School for the 2014-2015 school year. The announcement comes following the departure of former principal Michelle Imbrunone, who is now the superintendent of Goodrich Area Schools.
Lublin has served as assistant principal at Avondale High School since 2012. Prior to joining Avondale, she was assistant principal at Wayne Memorial High School in Wayne, Mich. from 2010-2011. Lublin also served as a counselor at Plymouth High School from 2005-2010 and Madison High School from 2003-2005. Lublin holds a Master of Arts degree in teaching and curriculum from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Oakland University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in communications from Michigan State University.
Also announced is the appointment of David Goetz as the assistant principal at Avondale Middle School. Goetz is joining the Avondale School District after serving nine years as a teacher in Lake Orion Community Schools. He holds a master’s degree in education studies and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Oakland University. Goetz also obtained a degree as an education specialist in leadership at Oakland University this summer.
