Rochester, Mich. —June 21, 2016 – MedNetOne Health Solutions (MedNetOne), a health care management organization offering infrastructure, clinical and technology services to independent physician practices and other independent care providers, announces its Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), a lifestyle and diabetes intervention program aimed at preventing Type 2 diabetes, has been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The announcement was made by MedNetOne CEO, Ewa Matuszewski.

“This recognition by the CDC affirms that our DPP Lifestyle Coaches, led by Jacqueline Ciarelli, R.D., CDE, are engaging with patients and educating them on diabetes prevention strategies and lifestyle approaches that have measurable results in the prevention of Type 2 diabetes,” Matuszewski said.

CDC recognition requires a rigorous certification review and mandates that a minimum of 50% of participants be eligible for the lifestyle intervention based on either a blood test indicating pre-diabetes or a history of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). The remainder (maximum of 50% of participants) must be eligible based on the CDC pre-diabetes screening test, the American Diabetes Association Type 2 Diabetes risk test or a claims-based risk test. The CDC also looks at number of sessions attended by participants, documentation of participants’ physical activity and weight loss achieved at six and 12 months.

At the annual reporting period ending May 31, the CDC evaluates organizations’ data to determine the recognition status. Organizations must meet all of the recognition standards in order to achieve full recognition; MedNetOne met all requirements and is only one of seven DPP programs in Michigan to do so. The recognition designation is noted on the CDC’s national registry website, which can be viewed here.
