Ann Arbor, Mich. — June 20, 2017 — Intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione has been recognized for the ninth year in a row as a top U.S. firm for patent prosecution, including for re-examination and post-grant proceedings, by The Legal 500 United States 2017.

The independent legal referral guide also recommended six Brinks attorneys as key patent law practitioners: Heidi A. Dare, Joseph F. Hetz, and Miyoung Shin of Brinks’ Chicago office; Allen R. Baum, managing shareholder of Brinks’ Research Triangle Park, N.C., office; Jon H. Beaupré, a shareholder in the firm’s Ann Arbor, Mich., office; and Ryan L. Marshall, managing shareholder of Brinks’ office in Salt Lake City.

The Legal 500 focuses its research on firms with a strong national presence and the capability to handle sophisticated and complex work. Each year, research teams comprised of journalists and lawyers gather and analyze confidential peer reviews, client feedback, and information provided by the law firms themselves. The process culminates in a single national ranking by practice area to give buyers of legal services an objective analysis of the U.S. market. More information is at http://www.legal500.com/.

Brinks is celebrating its centennial anniversary in 2017. Including Ann Arbor, the firm has seven offices in the U.S. and is expected to receive regulatory approval in 2017 for its new representative office in Shenzhen, the city at the center of China’s booming technology research and development sector. The office will be Brinks’ first overseas, and it is intended to serve companies in Guangdong province and throughout China in addressing intellectual property issues in the United States.
