Auburn Hills, Mich.—Sept. 3, 2014—- Avondale School District, an achievement-oriented learning community focused on student leadership and success in academics, the arts and athletics, announces the 11th annual A Train show will return to Avondale High School on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015. The event, which attracted more than 1,600 adults and 700 children in 2014, is the second largest model train show in the state by attendance and boasts more than 350 tables of trains. Additionally, Avondale announces A Train sponsorship opportunities to the business community.

Frank Lams, Avondale’s assistant superintendent for financial services and a train hobbyist himself, has coordinated the A Train since its inception. According to Lams, the event includes door prizes, raffle prizes and a presentation of a feature movie in the high school’s auditorium. The sponsorship opportunities available include financial sponsorships and gifts in-kind.

“We are excited to bring the A Train back for the 11th year as the best model railroad show in the state,” Lams said. “Each year we offer a fun, entertainment-filled event for families at a low price while supporting a great cause, the Avondale Education Foundation. By having sponsors of the event, we will be able to continue this tradition for many years to come and provide additional funds to the Avondale Education Foundation. Sponsorships also present an opportunity for area businesses to support the event and the Avondale community while gaining name recognition for their business.”

The Avondale Education Foundation’s (AEF) mission is to support student development, promote excellence through creative teaching and foster community and school partnerships by securing and allocating financial and other resources to create or expand education related enrichment projects and programs offered through the Avondale School District.
