Detroit— March 3, 2016 — The French-American Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chapter (FACC Michigan), a not-for-profit business organization committed to the improvement of economic, commercial and financial relations between France and the United States and offering a variety of business, educational and social opportunities to its members, announces its Annual Meeting and Program will take place Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Faurecia North American Headquarters & Automotive Seating Technical Center in Auburn Hills. The event is open to both members and non-members.

Cedric Ballarin, FACC Michigan president and a vice president in the Michigan headquarters of France-based Faurecia, explained the purpose of the Annual Meeting and Program.

“Our Annual Meeting and Program brings together members and non-members for an update on the Chapter’s activity, a presentation by an industry insider and the election of Directors to the FACC Michigan board. This constitutes a fantastic opportunity to hear leading industry speakers and to foster contacts with global decision makers of prestigious Michigan companies involved in French-American business,” Ballarin said. “The celebratory tradition of our Annual Meeting & Program is a key reason FACC Michigan is the state’s premiere organization for French-American businesses.”

The evening’s guest speaker is Xavier Mosquet, Senior Partner and Managing Director of the Detroit office of The Boston Consulting Group. The BCG recently published the report A Roadmap to Safer Driving Through Advanced Driver Assistance Systems last fall and found, in collaboration with the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association, that advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on the market today could sharply reduce the number and severity of motor vehicle accidents if every vehicle on the road were equipped with them. Mosquet will speak about the report’s findings, societal benefits that ADAS could generate, and strategies that automotive industry stakeholders could leverage to increase the market penetration rate of ADAS. He will also share his perspective on the development of autonomous vehicles.
