Southfield, Mich. — Sept. 4, 2015 —Attorney Neil Rockind, founder of Southfield-based criminal defense law firm, Rockind Law, has been named a Michigan Super Lawyer in the practice area of criminal defense. This is Rockind’s seventh consecutive year on the list. Additionally, he was named among the Top 50 Consumer Attorneys in Michigan based on nominations and the research and blue ribbon review process conducted by Super Lawyers.
Rockind is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the founding of Rockind Law in 2015 and earlier this year was named among 30 Leaders in the Law by the legal trade publication, Michigan Lawyers Weekly. In addition to his case work, Rockind serves as a legal expert for WDIV Local 4 News and other media outlets and is a contributing author to Michigan Model Criminal Jury Instructions. He has a passion for fighting against the growing number of Michigan laws he views as encroaching on the civil liberties of state residents.
Rockind holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He is active in a variety of professional organizations, including membership in the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense section of the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Washington, D.C.-based National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys (NACDA), where he serves on the advisory board.
Separately, Colin Daniels, an associate attorney at Rockind Law, has been named a Michigan Rising Star 2015 in criminal defense by Michigan Super Lawyers. The Rising Star recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state who are 40 years old or younger or have been practicing for 10 years or less. Daniels holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Albion College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy.
