ANN ARBOR, Mich. – September 14, 2017 – Michael N. Spink, an intellectual property attorney and shareholder in the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the nation’s largest intellectual property law firms, announced the Michigan Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) will host a meeting in Traverse City, Mich. on Sept. 21 with the theme of leveraging intellectual property to increase business value. Spink is a co-chair of the Michigan chapter of LES, which is an international professional society comprised of nearly 3,000 members engaged in the transfer, use, development, manufacture and marketing of intellectual property.
Preceded by a networking reception, the Sept. 21 event will feature a panel of industry experts presenting perspectives on how to identify, utilize and license IP, how IP strategies are adapting to rapidly evolving technologies, and how this is impacting deal flow and valuation. Panelists include Jamie Kemler, Vice President of Intellectual Property Business Strategy for Stryker Corporation, Bryce Pilz, Director of Licensing for the University of Michigan Tech Transfer, and Skip Simms, Senior Vice President of Ann Arbor SPARK.
