On Aug. 4 he filed a $10M wrongful death lawsuit in federal court against the City of Dearborn and Dearborn police officer James Wade on behalf of the family of Detroit resident, Janet Wilson, who was shot to death by Officer Wade as she sat unarmed in her car on Jan 27, 2016. Colella’s other practice areas include automobile negligence, premises liability, sexual harassment and discrimination, general negligence, contract disputes, contingent commercial litigation and class action lawsuits. He received a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Michigan State University.
