Bloomfield Hills, Mich. — Sept. 1, 2016 —Attorney Neil Rockind, founder of Bloomfield Hills-based criminal defense law firm, Rockind Law, has been named a Michigan Super Lawyer in the practice area of criminal defense. This is Rockind’s eighth consecutive year on the list. He was also named one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Michigan and the Top 50 Consumer Attorneys in Michigan based on nominations and the research and blue ribbon review process conducted by Super Lawyers. Colin Daniels, an associate attorney at Rockind Law, has again been named a Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star.
Rockind established his criminal defense firm in 2000 after gaining experience on the prosecution side at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office. It was there he earned the nickname, The Rockweiler, for his tenacity and preparedness in the courtroom. In addition to his client work, Rockind serves as a legal expert for WDIV Local 4 News and other media outlets and is a contributing author to Michigan Model Criminal Jury Instructions. He has a passion for fighting against the growing number of Michigan laws he views as encroaching on the civil liberties of state residents.
Rockind holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He is active in a variety of professional organizations, including membership in the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense section of the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Washington, D.C.-based National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys (NACDA), where he serves on the advisory board.
The Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state who are 40 years old or younger or have been practicing for 10 years or less. This is the fifth consecutive year that Daniels has received the award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Albion College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy.
