2015 HR Executives of the Year also to be honored at ASE‘s 12th Annual Summit

Livonia, Mich. —Oct. 19, 2015 — The American Society of Employers (ASE), one of the nation’s oldest and largest employer associations, is pleased to announce Robert Dye, Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Comerica Bank, will be the keynote speaker at ASE’s twelfth Annual Summit, which celebrates the pivotal role of the HR profession in Michigan’s business and non-profit communities and honors four HR professionals as ASE’s Michigan HR Executives of the Year 2015. The ASE Summit will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Detroit Athletic Club. The announcement was made by ASE President and CEO, Mary E. Corrado.

“Robert Dye’s national reputation as a leading economist and a keen observer of the Michigan economy make him an ideal choice for our Annual ASE Summit,” Corrado said.

Dye leads the Comerica Economics Department, which provides research and analysis vital to Comerica and its customers, as well as business leaders and policy makers throughout the country. He also provides commentary and research on the U.S. economy and the economies of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and Michigan – Comerica’s primary markets. He publishes a monthly U.S. economic update and quarterly regional economic updates targeting 12 key metropolitan statistical areas within Comerica’s footprint; other regular publications include state-level economic indexes, daily economic alerts and the Comerica Economic Weekly.
Dye was recently awarded the prestigious Lawrence R. Klein Award for 2015 for having the most accurate macroeconomic forecasts among the nation’s top forecasters.

Dye is a former director of the National Association of Business Economics and is a member of the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association. He is past president of the Economic Club of Pittsburgh. Dye earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College, a master’s degree in natural resources from Ball State University and a doctorate in energy management and policy from the University of Pennsylvania.

The honorees for ASE’s Michigan HR Executive of the Year 2015, selected in four categories and recognized for meritorious work that distinguishes them in the field of Human Resource Management, are:

• Scott Pepin, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources, Federal-Mogul Powertrain – Organizations with over 1,000 Michigan employees
• Meghan Berg, PHR, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Director, Fortis Energy Services, Inc. – Organizations with fewer than 1,000 Michigan employees
• Sharon Butler, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources, Michigan State University – Health and Human Services organizations with 500 or more Michigan employees
• Ron Carr, Human Resources Director, United Way of Southeastern Michigan – Health and Human Services organizations with fewer than 500 Michigan employees
