Flint, Mich. —Tax season is a little easier in the Flint office of Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest public accounting and business advisory firms. That’s because the 50 person office, among many throughout the firm, offers free childcare on Saturdays during busy season from January to April 15.

“For the past several years, the Flint office has hosted free Saturday childcare during tax season to help parenting staff cope with the additional time pressures that come with what we in public accounting call busy season,” said Ken Leslie, CPA, Flint’s office managing partner. “The Southfield office of Plante Moran first piloted the Saturday childcare concept 25 years ago. When Plante Moran came into the Flint market in 2005, we wanted to keep the tradition going. It’s an important part of our ‘we care’ culture.”

The Flint office’s 2014 childcare program began on Saturday, Jan. 25 and runs until April 12. Hours are 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each Saturday. Approximately 10-12 children are cared for and childcare is provided by a licensed daycare center.
