Detroit, Mich., — Jan. 10, 2014 — One Detroit Center, an award-winning, Class-A office property located in downtown Detroit and the tallest office building in Michigan, held a ribbon cutting ceremony today for its new 25 foot LED monument sign, located on the northeast corner of W. Larned St. and Woodward Ave. The ribbon cutting was hosted by Signature Associates, the property manager and leasing agent for One Detroit Center, which is majority owned by iStar Financial (NYSE: STAR).
Mounted on a granite base, two sides of the monument sign are LED screens spanning 13 feet high and approximately eight feet wide and the third side is a fixed panel of equivalent size. The two full color LED screens highlight tenants of One Detroit Center and downtown sports and entertainment activities. The third screen, currently displaying a branded message about the One Detroit Center property, is a community outreach panel with a cultural focus to promote the arts in and around Detroit. The sign is designed to engage tenants, pedestrians and motorists in the excitement and elegance of Detroit’s corporate and cultural scene.
“We wanted to provide an outlet for our tenants’ names and personalized messages to be displayed to downtown Detroit and we wanted to do it in an unexpected way,” said Greg Camia, lead executive of One Detroit Center and senior vice president of iStar Financial. “It was important that the sign was large enough to be noticed but not so large that it looks out of place. The final product is a monument worthy of affiliation with One Detroit Center.”
One Detroit Center tenants will be spotlighted on the monument sign throughout the day, with additional coverage allocated on a fee basis to allow tenants to send targeted messages to the downtown Detroit audience. The monument sign, the only one of its kind for a Michigan multi-tenant office building, is one of several ongoing enhancements to Detroit’s unrivaled corporate address.
